Styrian Improvisers Orchestra meets Clementine Fuchs

The first part of the evening will be presented by our guest conductor, composer, and instrumentalist Clementine Fuchs. She will premiere her new piece, “Momentum,” with the STIO.

The second part will be dedicated to the initiator of International Women’s Day by Annette Giesriegl, co-founder and co-director of the Styrian Improvisers Orchestra, conducting “Clara Zetkin.”

MOMENTUM

The sound material and atmospheric quality of the opening moment form the basis for the piece, whose individual sections differ in density, speed, and emotional impact. Structurally, Momentum, with a fast, a slow, a dance-like, and yet another fast section, resembles a short classical symphony.
